SIP84 Sympathy

Hi everyone!  It's Stamp Ink Paper time, and I made up a really simple Tic-Tac-Toe for you to play with:
Image may contain: text
Unfortunately, I needed another sympathy card for a beloved church member; I chose the left top diagonal of blue, circular element and ribbon for my card:

These beautiful MME Lost and Found 3 Oliver papers look so nice on a Very Vanilla background; I added a simple sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs and some little diecut birds.  The velveteen ribbon is some SU from a few years back that I have been hoarding!

And here's a little tip if you need a scalloped rectangle but only have square rectangle dies; these happen to be the Layering Squares from SU.  If you cut one square, then cut a portion of the same size square, you can layer them and the seam is barely visible.  Do you see where the second layer is under the first one?

I'll bet you never even noticed that was there!  It's a great way to get more use from your dies!!  The inside was stamped with a Bible verse and a Hero Arts sentiment, and I added another bird:

It also uses the sketch from Match The Sketch for this week:

I hope that you'll play along with the SIP challenge this week...it's always fun to play tic-tac-toe!! And the DT has come up with some wonderful creations as well!  See you there!

A smiley face made from chocolate chips on whipped cream and pudding....yum!

RRCB55 Cross My Heart

Hi everyone!  I've got two posts for today!  Stop back a little later for my SIP post!

I was excited that the girls at Retro Rubber chose this card as a winner, so today, I get to play along as a guest designer!  Look at this yummy challenge photo:

Displaying RRCB 55.jpg

I've got a few "retro" items on this card!!!  The set I used is from Papertrey called Love Songs; it's in the "vault" there, and I can't tell from what year it came....but I am thinking it's probably from around 2008 or 2009!

My card base is Barely Banana---another retro item--and I stamped the heart-shaped balloons in Flirty Flamingo, Crisp Cantaloupe, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette and Peekaboo Peach!

Each one was fussy-cut out and mounted on the "string" of words....I'll bet you'll get that song in your head after reading it!  I added some white sequins, a little bit of Flirty Flamingo ribbon, and I embossed my card with the Falling Petals folder before assembling it all!

It was fun dusting off this old set....I have lots of other creations in mind now that I've seen it again! What will you use for this challenge?  Share it with us and be sure to tell us how old your retro treasure is!  Enjoy your day!

AYSI143 Wedding Congrats

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend.  I got to do some stamping, went out to lunch AND dinner, knitted, read and relaxed!  It was great!  I made a wedding card, just to have on hand, with the As You See It sketch:

I realized (too late) that I put my sentiment over a bit too far....hopefully they won't kick me out!

My card base is Very Vanilla and I used some pretty papers from My Mind's Eye.  The embossing folder is the new Falling Petals; to make the hearts more impressive, I sponged them a wee little bit with some Pink Pirouette ink.  I added some gold foil accents as well as gold wire, and a wee little bit of the new doilies, which I love, because they are white on one side and vanilla on the other!

Thanks for popping in today!

Our church had a bowling event and everyone, young and old, enjoyed themselves!

Cassidy even got a strike!  Better than I could do!

Enjoy your day!

PP329 Apple-y Thanks

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Joann is our hostess for the Paper Players today, and I have to tell you, this sketch really threw me for a loop!  BUT.....I persevered and managed to come up with something that I really love!

I recently got some cute BoBunny papers called Kiss the Cook...lots of cute patterns...and in the end, I decided on these country gingham and quilt patterns:

The smaller apples were punched from another piece of the BoBuny paper; I diecut some stitched squares and mounted them on top.  The large apple is from Papertrey; it was stamped in Riding Hood Red on Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut to be mounted on the larger square:

The sentiment from Jars of Love looked like a good fit! The only other thing I added was some baker's twine, as the patterns are pretty busy!  I need several thank you cards in the next few days, so I'm off to a good start!

I can't wait for you to check out what the other designers did with this sketch...and share yours with us as well!

Cozy Christmas Cup

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well!  I just loved this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch this week:

and although I was tempted to use a bird on my card, I realized I have been remiss in making Christmas cards, so I thought I would remedy that, and I used the prompt from Merry Monday as a starting point:

And amazingly, this card was a snap to put together!!!  It only took me about 15 minutes!!!  Here we go:

I used the mug from a retired SU set called Scentsational Seasons and heat-embossed it on some black and white DSP from Carta Bella; the plaid is from the same paper pad.  And the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted!  Love that cross-stitch font!

Cassidy got a little jewelry-making kit for Christmas, just basically bracelets and charms, but she was quite serious about the one she made for Mommy!

Thanks for popping in today and be blessed!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!

CCMC442

Happy Friday, peeps!  I was excited to see the color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary (now at a "new" FB location) because it is so bright and cheery, it almost makes me forget I have a cold and the skies are still kinda gray!  What do you think:

Image may contain: text

I also used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

These colors just seemed to fit with the images of the cute new set, Day at the Beach, so I did some stamping, punching, diecutting and coloring:

Each image was stamped in the challenge colors and colored with marker, blender pen and/or aquapainter!  I used a sentiment from Suite Sentiments, the big sun from Kinda Eclectic and the horizontal element is from Butterfly Basics.  Isn't it fun to mix and match elements from different sets?

And the inside sentiment is from Avant Garden:

Another card to add to my birthday stash!

Wayne brought home some amazing strawberries last night (he works for a wholesale produce company) and Cassidy decided to try a little trick she saw on her tablet from Life Hacks.  She took a drinking straw and pushed it up from the bottom, through the strawberry, to take out the hull.  It was a little tricky to get it pushed straight through; she needed some help from Mommy, but it worked!!

And she took a big bite out it before I could take a picture!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hey, Hey Chick!

Hi peeps!  Winding down the week....hope it's been a good one!  I have a few cards I've made with the SAB set Hey, Chick....what a fun set!  We have a friend who celebrated his birthday recently, and we love to give each other a hard time, so I made him this card:

I drew the little cracks on the egg....because he IS a little cracked!  I used an aquapainter and some inks to color my crazy chick and his dozen friends:

I can't take credit for the next card; I CASed it directly from the SU website!  But I did add the "chicken wire" stamp from Butterfly Basics across my Pool Party banner for a little extra addition:

Isn't this little dude adorable?

And finally, the last chick in the set.....I colored her with some watercolor pencils, mounted the image on some Serene Scenery and stamped the sentiment on the opposite side of the paper; it sort of looks like twill tape:

And again, I stamped the honeycomb image from Butterfly Basics directly on the DSP:

Thanks for "chicking" in today!!!

It was so nice yesterday afternoon, we took a bike ride and blew off some steam running around the yard and playing on the swings!

Have a blessed day!

Valentine Projects

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Prior to my customer appreciation party, I was stamping like mad to create a few samples for the upcoming Valentine holiday!  Here are a few I made:

I really appreciate the generosity of other demonstrators and crafters who so freely share their ideas!!! This sweet little box, created with the Gift Box Punch board, features Sending Love DSP and a sentiment from Suite Sentiments.  I found the sample from Beth McCullough HERE!

This wee little box uses a 6x6" sheet of DSP, and it uses a sentiment from Friendly Wishes, stamped in Sweet Sugarplum.  Sam Donald, who is the QUEEN of the Envelope Punch Board, has a quick tutorial HERE:

Dana gave me a little tin that had some Key Lime mints in it....it's tiny, only about 1 1/2 x 2 3/4".....but just the right size to decorate with some Sending Love DSP, a silver glimmer heart and silver foil arrow, and a couple of rhinestones along with a little sentiment from Sealed with Love:

And finally, this little triangle treat box features some SAB Carried Away DSP and another sentiment from Suite Sentiments....have I mentioned how much I love this set, too?!  You can find the directions for this box from Jane Carroll HERE:

There is still lots of time to make some of these Valentine treat boxes....so get cracking!  And thanks for visiting today!

Remember Pez?  And how challenging it was to get all the candy in before the spring sprung?   It's still around!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
