FMS171 and CCMC340

DSCF7741

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a couple cards for you today!  Both use this week’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch from Rita:

The first is a Valentine card using the stamps from January’s Paper Pumpkin along with some glimmer paper, sequins and rhinestones!

I think these sweet little heart images and sentiments are just darling!

My next one was inspired by Jen Timko’s card shown here.  I just loved it!  I started with the colors from Create with Connie & Mary for this week:

and using a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri for a sympathy card:

I also used Gorgeous Grunge to stamp some additional elements; it’s hard to see here, but the white circle is SU’s canvas, on which I stamped some images in Sahara Sand and Basic Gray:

The butterfly was colored with Lost Lagoon ink and a blender pen; the seam binding is Soft Sky.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Player’s challenge!

I did finish the doll sweater I began last week for Cassidy’s doll Claire; it is definitely not perfect, and I am still working on figuring out what the different types of yarn are, what size needles to use to get the right gauge, etc., etc., so although the final product was a little too big, it is easy for Cassidy to get it on and off her doll and it was challenging enough for me that I actually learned a few new techniques!  So here is Cassidy showing the sweater, along with the boots that she is using for accessorizing:

And here is Claire, modeling it with a scarf already in her wardrobe!!:

RRBC06 for BW

DSCF7701

Happy Friday, everyone!  I am a wee bit sad because earlier this week,  my sister had to say good-bye to her dog, BW.  BW stands for black and white!  She rescued him many years ago from the side of the road, so he was very blessed as a dog!  But he was old and sick, so this is for Gail and her family!

This is a little busier than I normally do, but I just love these Max and Whiskers papers from Basic Grey; I’ve had them a long time, as I have the dog image and sentiment, both of which are from a Whippersnapper set called Good Dog!  I stamped BW in Memento black and colored him with some copics:

And I used the sketch from the new-to-me challenge, Retro Rubber:

The idea behind this challenge is to use stamps that are at least a year old…this one was probably from around 2008 or 2009!! Thanks for visiting today!

Check out this braid…no, I don’t do hair, this is courtesy of mommy!

Flower Shop Thank You

DSCF7422

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a quick card today, a thank you for one of my customers!  I recently saw this tutorial from Lynn Pratt using the Top Note die to create an swing-style card:

I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and Lullaby DSP, stamping the sentiment from Fabulous Four in Early Espresso ink directly on the DSP.  I then stamped a few of the flowers in Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pink Pirouette and positioned them on the card:

I added some various centers for interest and sent it on its way!  Thanks for visiting today!

MM143 and MTS056 Vintage Carolers

DSCF7686
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  If you’re in the northeast section of the USA, chances are, you’re getting some snow today!  So I’ve got a snowy sort of card for the Merry Monday challenge of carolers or music, as well as the Match The Sketch challenge:
I had just snagged this cute vintage image from Pinterest, so it seemed appropriate for the theme!

I used some SU papers, ribbon and sequins, and a Darice Snowflake Swirl EF.  Here’s a closer look at this adorable image.  I am particularly drawn to this because I have loved dachshunds ever since I was a little girl, and my sister and parents both had one…..their little faces are so cute and ours always had wonderful dispositions!

While I was printing out my smaller image, I went ahead and printed out a larger one, mounted it on a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and mounted it on a simple Sahara Sand card, embellished with a few stamped images and a seam binding ribbon:

I stamped a Verve sentiment in Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso, too…so sweet!

Paper Players 229 x Two

DSCF7588
Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend…it’s a wee bit soggy here in SE PA, and we’re bracing for some more snowy precip…hey, it IS winter, right?  More crafting time!   Anyway, it’s Paper Players day and Jaydee has an awesome sketch for us this week.  I just love this sketch, it’s very similar to my favorite go-to sketch, only it’s in landscape, which is just as wonderful!   Check it out:

One of the free SAB items this year is a little packet of Project Life Mini Cards; since I am a terrible scrapper, I thought perhaps I could use some of them, along with some other SAB products, to make a card!  So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 229 Simply Wonderful

Isn’t this a happy card?  I cut down one of the larger cards for my upper panel, and used the Heart Framelits to cut down the floral one, then added a button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  I cut a mat free-hand in Lost Lagoon and popped it up over some Tangelo Twist ribbon, and stamped the sentiment from Simply Wonderful in TT ink:

DSCF7591

It’s all atop a Soft Sky card base, and I think it’s quite cheerful!  And I loved the sketch so much, I had to do another!  I haven’t done a vintage-style card for a while, and I needed a thank you card for a sweet customer, and I know she likes vintage stuff, and I hope she likes the card as well!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 229 Postage Due Stampin UP

I used a Very Vanilla card base this time, with a mat of Real Red and Typeset DSP, stamping the images from Postage Due in Real Red and Crumb Cake, and sponging everything with Crumb Cake.  I added a couple of wee banners, then, using the Flower Fair Framelits,  I diecut some leaves from a piece of burlap ribbon, and a flower from our canvas, embellished with a Candy Dot center:

DSCF7629

I also embossed the top half with the Arrows EF (thanks, Sandy!) and added a little sentiment from Something To Say, which I diecut with the File Tab Edgelits…I think it gives a cool “finished” look, don’t you think:
DSCF7630

This took a wee bit more time to complete, but I like the shabby look of this one too!  So I hope that these will inspire you to create something with Jaydee’s sketch this week!  I must say, the DT has created some beauties with it….be sure to check them all out:
I have been doing a few other handicrafts lately, and Cassidy has suddenly realized that her mom and I could possibly create clothes for her dolls!  Changing her doll’s clothing is an activity that absorbs a LOT of her time, but she doesn’t realize that knitting a doll sweater would take quite a bit of effort for a beginning knitter (although of course, I am trying to make one for her!!!)!  However, through the generosity of kind people and the internet, I was able to find a free sewing pattern to make “Claire” a coat.  Now I have LOTS of fabric from all my sewing projects, but this Debbie Mumm pattern is what Miss Cassidy chose and insisted on!!!  And I have to tell you, she was thrilled with it!  Here it is, being modeled by her doll (it’s similar to an American Girl doll):

DSCF7600
And yes, it has pumpkins, apples, sunflowers and scarecrows on it…and that’s what she wanted.  AND the design was only going one way, so I had to make sure I didn’t get a sleeve upside down, LOL!  AND the pattern was for a dress with the opening in the back, so I had to alter it so it opened in the front:

DSCF7640

DSCF7635

But it was fun to make…even though I don’t think I ever made anything with seams so small, LOL!  So far, we only have a snap closure, but I want to add some wee buttons to make it look more like a coat!  I just need to find some tiny enough!  Thanks for indulging me!

MM142 and MIM207

DSCF7581

Happy Friday, peeps!  The last few days have allowed me very little stamping (or computer) time, but I did squeak in a card for the Make it Monday challenge from the Kraft Journal which was “Anything Goes Winter” as well as the “house” challenge from Merry Monday:

I still have some Crumb Cake note-sized envelopes in my stash, so I made a really simple card using Lost Lagoon and Whisper White cardstock on a Crumb Cake notecard, die-cutting my houses with the Memory Box Country Landscape die:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Christmas House Silhouette Merry Monday 142

I stamped a sentiment from the retired SU set called To You and Yours on a diecut banner from the Circle Card Thinlet and added some sequins and snowflakes:

DSCF7580

I kept it simple….didn’t even add any glitter!!!  Thanks for visiting!

We had a wee bit of snow yesterday and Cassidy insisted on going outside to make snow angels.  I told her there wasn’t enough snow, but she proved me wrong!  She made them at the top of the driveway:

Halfway down the driveway:

DSCF7543

And on her tummy!

DSCF7546

She even drew a head on each one (with eyes!).

What fun!

Enjoy your day!
