A Special Birthday Card

DSCF1165
Today’s card is for a special friend…and I have been wanting to use these little My Favorite Things Bon Appetit dies for a long time.  My friend Teri gifted me with some fabulous DPs and this was one of them, so I knew they would be a perfect pair!  There is very little stamping done; the sentiments are computer generated.  Here you go:

I stamped the mitt with a lady bug from Itty Bitties; the bowl was stamped with Banner Blast; and the measuring cup was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge, then highlighted with a Gelly Roll pen.  I added little red stripes on the rolling pin with a marker.  I had been saving a card I received from my SIL for my birthday, and it had such a cute sentiment, I used it for the inside, along with some more Gorgeous Grunge:

IB108 and The Challenge

DSCF1199
I normally don’t post two times in one day, but I saw a cute inspiration photo on Inspired By, and time was running out!!!  Here it is:
This reminds me of London during the time of 101 Dalmatians….LOL!!!  That was the first movie my parents took me to, so it sticks out in my mind vividly!!   I don’t have any images like this but I liked the color combo, and after seeing Laurel’s sample, as well as this sample from Lorraine, I pulled out a few sets and went to work:

I printed out a little bingo card (sorry, I don’t remember where I got it!), some Jenni Bowlin papers, a few SU stamps, and a bunch of embellishments, some of which were already sitting on my desk!   I think my favorite is the little bird:

And here are the rest of the embellies:

This also uses Lesley’s sketch at The Challenge!!!  Here’s what it looks like:
‘You should play along!!  And I am feeling lazy, so if you have any questions about what I used, just send me an email!

2 Sketches

DSCF1156

Hi everyone!  I had a wee bit of stamping time on Monday and utilized a couple of sketches!  The first one was from The Kraft Journal:

My four top-selling downline received one of these cards:

Here are closeups:

I used the SAB set See Ya Later and papers from the Fresh Prints and Retro Fresh lines, as well as the little banners from Banner Blast.

The second one was a thank you card for a sweet friend, and it uses the Sweet Sunday sketch challenge 208:

I used some papers that were “gifted” to me, along with vintage images from Established Elegance and French Foliage, in shades of Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray.  It was embellished with some shabby seam binding, a glimmer heart and an organdy rose; sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners:

If you have any questions about products used, just shoot me an email!

One of Cassidy’s special treats when she has a sleepover is to make popcorn.   She is just fascinated when that mountain of popcorn begins to come out of the chute!  She calls it a snowbank of popcorn!!!  It was a worthwhile yard sale investment of $4, whenever I see that look on her face!!

ColourQ 230

DSCF1146
Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday….and happy ColourQ day!  What do you think of this palette?

Oooh la la!  Never in a bazillion years would I be able to wear these shoes…not only would I be taller than DH, but I would probably fall flat on my face.  But they do provide an awesome palette!  I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch for this week:

for my simple card today:

I used Coastal Cabana instead of Cool Caribbean, and the new SAB set, Banner Blast!  I think this is such a fun set, especially with this color combo.  I love that pop of black!  I stamped & punched the banners, “stringing” them on some linen thread:

I love the matching punch, makes short work of popping these little banners out!  And my PP teammate Nance reminded me that I hadn’t used my Needlepoint embossing folder lately, so I used it on the Summer Starfruit panel.  A couple of little pearls finished it off!

I hope you will find some time to play with us this week….you can see all the lovely samples at the ColourQ blog!

The floor makes a good surface on which to put one’s coloring book and crayons:

But then, it seems more fun just to line up the crayons….

and since we’re learning about patterns, they have to face the opposite direction!!!  Enjoy your day!

Merry Monday 97

DSCF1141

Ah, Monday….back to the work week!  At least we have the Merry Monday challenge to look forward to!  Look at this gorgeous inspiration photo Lesley has given us today:

I agonized over what “aqua” I should use.  I can’t remember the last time I used Tempting Turquoise, and so I really wanted to use it, but it just didn’t look right, so I switched gears and used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Encore Silver:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 97 Endless Wishes Tree Trimmings Stampin Up Christmas

I used the CAS(e) This Sketch sketch 65 for this week:

This retired Tree Trimmings set has a little “string” stamp, but I thought the twine from the SAB Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack would be pretty to use:

DSCF1139

I also used the Endless Wishes polymer set for my sentiment, stamping it in Silver Encore and Coastal Cabana!  Easy and fun….the hardest part was fussy-cutting the ornaments!

The design team has come up with some gorgeous samples, and we hope they will encourage you, if you haven’t started yet, to begin making your Christmas cards too!  Be sure to check them out at the Merry Monday blog!
