CASology Sorry

DSCF5436

Happy Friday, peeps!  I know I said I wouldn’t be around much….but I was feeling sorry for myself after dropping my 1972 Singer sewing machine on my toe last night.  OUCH!  That baby was heavy!  I am hoping it still works!!   To make matters worse, I had planned to do a lot of walking with my roomies….we’ll see how it goes.  They may have to wheel me around Longwood Gardens in a wheelchair, LOL!  Anyway, I took a break from my cleaning to make a CAS card for friends of ours who had to put down their beloved Wiggles.  He was the smartest dog!!!  I know they will miss him, so I used the little dog from Every Little Bit to make my doggie sympathy card:

I affectionately call this my donut card!  The opening on the front allows the image to pop through from the inside of the card:

He was paper-pieced and popped up with a double dose of dimensionals.  A little gingham ribbon adds some interest  without being too fussy.  The sentiment was computer-generated.   This qualifies for the CASology cue card of “Furry”, too!

Doin’ a little Marilyn Monroe posin’:

Just sort of experimenting with some new things today---this new color, Crisp Cantaloupe, is right up my peachy-shade-lovin’ alley!!  Especially with Calypso Coral!  I am still fooling around with Mosaic Madness, too:

I embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum, but it didn’t stand out quite well enough, so I added a second piece behind it…..then I stamped on the back of it, too!  Just a little line design from the same set!  Gave it a little bit of color and hid the dimensionals!

This sketch is from the Monday Lunchtime Sketch:

I already know who this is going to, too!!

I may be MIA for a couple of days….my college roommates are coming for a visit…all three of them!  So I will be busy yakking with them over the weekend!  It will be 40 years since we have all three been together at one time!!!  I can’t wait!  But I’ll be back on Sunday with my Paper Players card for sure!

Oh….did you know that  a piece of cheese, still in the wrapper, will stick to the kitchen door?  It does!

DSCF5374

Happy Wednesday, all!  I found a new-to-me challenge called Sunday Stamps…they had a nice sketch this week:

I really just sort of threw this together…the images are loosely colored with blender pen and ink, then were punched out & adhered…..pretty simple!

Don’t look too closely….by 11:30 pm, my eyes are a little weary!!!

These images are from one of my dearest sets, Garden Pleasures.  I just had to add in the little frog and bird, too:

PDCC183 & MOJO295

DSCF5357

Hey, peeps!  Squeaking in another card today because I wanted to play with the The Play Date CafĂ©’s current color challenge, sponsored by a sweet friend of mine!  Here are the colors:

I had a few ideas in my head, but when I saw the Mojo Monday sketch #295, I thought it would translate into a fun baby boy card:

Mojo 295 - LeAnne

The squares were punched out with the 1” square and 1 1/4” postage stamp punches.  I already had the green gingham banner stamped from a prior project, so I just diecut the anchor and stars and put it all together!  Cute colors and an awesome sketch!

We’ve had a few showers here lately….and of course, Cassidy is drawn to those puddles like a moth to a flame!  And yes, her boots are on the wrong feet!  But she put them on herself!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Feels like Monday, or Sunday or some other day, to me!  Having a Monday holiday is fun but it sure messes up your internal clock!  Anyhoo, it’s time for the ColourQ challenge, and here is the fun inspiration Arielle has come up with for this week:

What a fun purse!  I had a bunch of ideas spinning around in my head!  In fact…see that turquoise typewriter on the front?  I HAVE ONE OF THOSE!!!  In fact, my sister Gail just sold one at her store, Charleston Fynd!!!  I was going to let her sell mine too but she encouraged me to find a ribbon for it and keep it….she said every kid that came into her store made a beeline for the typewriter!!!  Vintage is in!  So I went sort of literal for my “vintage” card too:

LeAnne_CQC191

Oh, I had fun making this card although it took an inordinate amount of time!  I played with old images, new “old” images, new papers, dry embossing, heat embossing, and best of all….I was able to download a free “typewriter” font to make my typewriter key-style letters in MDS!  Woohoo!  I was excited that I could print them on a Real Red background in white, and then just punch out the letters!  And since the purse had so many random patterns, I used my own Paper Players sketch from this week’s challenge!!!

DSCF5266

Anyone remember what that little doodad is?  Sure ya do!  (If you don’t, email me and I’ll tell you!)  I was also able to use a little diecut I’ve been saving from my friend Linda, on which I embossed a retired SU sentiment:

DSCF5265

The birthday sentiments inside and out are also computer-generated!!!  I am saving this for one of my “vintage” friends!

Now…..what inspires you in this photo?  I hope you will play along with us over at the ColourQ blog and be sure to check out what the other designers made with these bold colors and retro graphics!  Can’t wait to see it!  And if you have any questions about anything I used here, please send me an email!  Don’t leave your question in the comment box because I can’t always answer it there!

Dana & friends went to the train musem near the Strasburg Railroad this weekend…..Cassidy did NOT want to smile for the camera!

Merry Monday 64

DSCF5257

Happy Monday, everyone!  Happy Memorial Day!  After attending our local Memorial Day parade on one of the coolest May Saturdays I can ever remember, it was not hard to think of making a Christmas card!!!  Here’s the sketch that Lesley has for us all today:

I stretched the sketch a wee bit to make my image work:

MM64-LeAnne

I chose to do a monochromatic card in Pacific Point, using a couple of vintage-style stamps and a glittery snowflake ornament from the sale rack at my local big box store!

I added some DD glitter on the snowy image as well!  Easy peasy!  Now, I hope you’ll play along with us to make another Christmas card for your stash….and check out what the other designers did!  You can see them all at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!  And remember, if you have questions, shoot me an email!  Easier to answer that way!

Here are a couple pix of handsome DH cheesing it up at the Memorial Day parade on Saturday…..it was so windy, we almost got blown away, but at least it wasn’t raining!

Our little town may be small, but we have a lot of heart!  Happy Memorial Day!

Paper Players

DSCF5024

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I hope you’re enjoying your holiday weekend!  Today I am the hostess at the Paper Players, and I came up with a sketch that hopefully will spark your creative interest!  I always have lots of little scraps left over from various cards and projects, so I thought it would be fun to make a sketch that would allow you to mix and match those scraps!  Here you go!

For my card, I chose to use some Comfort CafĂ© papers to make a “comforting” card….since the colors in these are more fall-like, I haven’t used them for a while!  And because it’s retiring, it seemed a shame to not give it some love….so here we go:

PP147-LeAnne

My card base is Summer Starfruit, layered with Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze, on which I have stamped a couple of images from Day of Gratitude, which is also retiring.  I then embossed it with the Woodgrain EF, layered on my pieces, and added a little vellum tag, diecut from the Lots of Tags die set…also retiring.  This was my go-to tag set, I am so sad to not see it return!  I did add a little resin dahlia atop a NEW Very Vintage designer button….isn’t it sweet!!!

DSCF5021

And try as I may, Summer Starfruit just doesn’t want to photograph correctly with my camera, so although this looks like some brilliant yellow cardstock, it really is the interior of my Summer Starfruit card!!!

DSCF5026

I hope you’ll play along with us at the Paper Players this week and be sure to check out what all the other designers came up with using this fun sketch!! See you there!

Cassidy presented me with all kinds of photo ops the last few days!  This time, she watered my flowers for me (again, sorry for the mis-matched outfit!!!):

She waters like a pro!  And she was determined to get out every last drop!
