Paper Players 139 and Happy Easter!

easter printable vintage image--graphicsfairy2

A happy Sunday and a Happy Easter to everyone!  I hope you all have a restful, blessed day!  Jaydee is our hostess today and since it’s the fifth week of the month, we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge!  Here you go:

I chose to go diagonally from left top to bottom right, and I have to admit, this was a real quick little project as it has been a busy week here:

PP139-LeAnne

This whole thing started with the gingham ribbon….it had been kicking around on my table for a couple of weeks so I thought I should just USE it!  I had one SU Kraft Gift Box (they are on page 161 of the catalog---at $2.95 for 4, they are a great buy!) left in my stash, so I covered it with some springy pink and green DP, then made a tag from the Two Tags die with some green striped paper and stamped and colored the rain boot from Bootiful Occasions for my embellishment.  The bow is tied on with some retired grosgrain ribbon, and it just slips off to get the goodies inside!!!

I used a blender pen to color in my boot with Primrose Petals ink….I wish I had a pair of boots like this!  I am sure I could use them splashing around in the spring rain that is sure to come!

I hope you can splash on over to the Paper Players blog to see the other springy creations our wonderfully talented team has stamped for you!  Share your project too!  Can’t wait to see it!

We had a lovely day yesterday with family and friends—a wonderful lunch and a fun Easter egg hunt with Cassidy:

And afterwards:  the lineup!

And finally, one more lovely Easter card I received from my friend Doris:

I love this embossing folder…she got it as a gift; anyone know who makes it?

Enjoy your day, in whatever way you spend it!

STB11 and Some Easter Cards

DSCF3584

Happy Saturday, peeps!  What a week!  I am trying to clean up layers of drywall dust as we do some updating to my craft room!  My mojo level has gone done in direct proportion to the increased amount of dust and cleaning I have to do!  But the end result will be worth it…I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  Anyway, I had a few minutes to stamp yesterday and since I never have enough masculine birthday cards, I snapped up the chance to use the recent Seize the Birthday challenge:

I pulled out some cool Echo Park papers and used my new A Round Array stamp set, along with the Designer Typeset clear stamp set:

These papers are so fun, they do most of the work!  I did stamp and cut out the banners, stamped the “HB”, punched it out and adhered it to the little scallop.  Fun & easy!

I also wanted to share with you some pretty Easter cards I received!  This sweet one is from my friend and downline, Penny:

This one is from my talented friend, Linda, whose blog I dearly miss:

and this beautifully simple one from my other friend and downline, Shawn:

Thanks for letting me share these with you!  Oh, and here’s some Cassidy for you, dying eggs with Mommy:

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I had a card order recently and since my friend is not a stamper, I don’t necessarily have to make my cards multi-layered or embellished!  She mails them, so they need to be fairly flat and simple.  This week’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch by Rita was a perfect way to use some pretty MME papers from the Nostalgia line.

These colors are just so soft and calming, perfect for a get-well card:

Since I was already cutting the papers, I went ahead and made two cards, just changing the diecut trim a bit.  For my focal image, I used a clear block and applied it directly to my Baja Breeze ink pad, then “stamped” it on my panel for a dreamy background!  I love how it looks different on each image; I think the cardstock must have a grain to it, because you can see how the color seems to go horizontal on one image and vertical on the other:

The image from from Countryside, and it is stamped in Basic Gray ink.

The next one uses the Retrosketches sketch this week:

Same papers, still soft colors, but a more feminine look:

This uses the retired Tiny Teacup, stamped in Primrose Petals, embellished with a paper button and little twill banner.  Thanks for visiting—any questions, shoot me an email!

We had fun yesterday at the Easter party, but I forgot my camera—of course!  My friend let me borrow hers, but her camera card is smaller than mine and I can’t figure out how to download the photos…bummer!  Any help out there?  Anyway, we dyed some eggs today too:

Quite an experience….and of course, we had to eat the ones that were so cracked that they couldn’t be embellished!!! LOL!

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  This is going to be lickety split fast, as we are headed to an Easter party today at my friend Athena’s house.  Cassidy LOVES Athena, so it should be fun!

Today’s card is for the sketch at SCS shown here as well as the Inspired By photo this week….is this cute or what?

I rarely do “punny” cards, but I had this idea rattling around in my head for a while:

DSCF3490

Corny, I know!  I just couldn’t help it!  This retired chocolate Easter bunny was a perfect choice for the inspiration photo!!!   I used the new 7/8” scallop punch to “bite off” his ears!  I also used the sentiment from Ears to You---still available, until March 31!

DSCF3491

My bunny was stamped in Versamark ink on Chocolate Chip cardstock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Can you see the shine?

DSCF3492

I had the Crumb Cake piece already embossed, so I just added the pink stripes and embellishments!  Any questions….shoot me an email!

Cassidy was fascinated by the hard-boiled eggs I was making for tomorrow’s egg-dying eggscapade!!!

And you may be able to see a little “boo-boo” under her nose….a little mishap from the other sitter’s house!!! No worse the wear!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another wonderful ColourQ challenge!  But first, let me show what we woke up to yesterday morning:

DSCF3447

This is more snow than we’ve had ALL WINTER!!  Pretty….and probably gone by this afternoon!

Anyway, here’s the gorgeous springy palette Arielle has chosen for us today:

Beautiful!  I needed another hostess thank you card, and since my hostess purchased the Papillon Potpourri set and the matching punches, I decided to use them for her card.  She also loves purple…..so that Wisteria Wonder was perfect:

LeAnne_CQC182

I used the Unscripted Sketches sketch #203 to get me started:

US_Sketch203

I already had a little piece of white cardstock embossed with the Delicate Designs embossing folder, so I used that for my left panel.  I stamped the foliage from Papaya Collage in Lucky Limeade, but it looked a little too bright with my butterflies, so I layered it with a piece of vellum to soften it a bit:

DSCF3456

The butterflies themselves were stamped first with the silhouette outline stamp, after “stamping off” the ink on some scratch paper, then over-stamping the detailed image in full-strength ink.  The punch makes it a breeze to cut them out!  Added some pearls and mounted them on the vellum.

I stamped the “thanks” from Kindness Matters in Always Artichoke and punched it out with the small oval punch, but it looked naked without a mat!  Much to my surprise, I found that a 1 1/4” scallop circle punch-out, cut in half between the scallops and repositioned, created a perfect oval mat for my sentiment!  I LOVE it when I can get extra use out of my punches!!! (Somebody else probably already thought of this, I am sure!)  You can just barely see the overlap in this photo:

DSCF3457

I finished my card by embossing the front with the Elegant Lines embossing folder…I love the effect, but it does make the card front a bit “floppy”!!!  But I hope she likes it!  I hope you will stop over at the ColourQ blog to see the amazing projects the other designers have come up with too!  They are fantastic!

After spaghetti for lunch, Cassidy totally enjoyed the green jello cake I made….she even had some on her nose!!  Have no idea how THAT got there!
