My First MDS

DSCF9478

Ever since my Paper Players bloggin’ buddy Cindy posted on her blog that you don’t need the entire My Digital Studio program to use the downloads, I have been toying with the idea of buying a couple, just to try them out.  My fear was that I am not too computer-savvy when it comes to coloring images and I knew I didn’t want to just print things out in black all the time!  She gave me some hints about using the Paint program, and although some of the brush sets do not work in Paint, I have been able to play around a little and actually printed out one of the images from the Old Saint Nick set to make this card:

Pretty simple, but I wasn’t going for complex at this stage of the game!  I did have some issues with getting the RGB value to match the Cherry Cobbler cardstock; it is probably my printer, which is soon-to-be discarded.    I had some leftover skinny pieces of the Glimmer Silver cardstock that I placed behind my panel and I used a little punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to add a bit of zing to the center of the embossed snowflake.  I have more to learn about My Digital Studio, but I was at least happy to have one project under my belt!

oh, pretty, pretty!!! So very elegant and CAS! I like this - I will have to fiddle with the free MDS downloads I downloaded last weekend to see if I can get them to work in Paint.

Way to go LeAnne! I'd say you were very successful. I wish I had time to play with my MDS. I did print out the 5th free download and made a card. Now I've made a whole whopping two MDS cards Hee,Hee! One of these days - right?? I love your red & white card.

I can't even comment on your card, LeAnne....that photo of Little Miss makes me smile too much to type! That expression on her face is priceless. Ok, now that the daily dose of cuteness is fulfilled, I can go on...

I am kind of loving this new "mastering of the MDS" you are sharing. This is awesome! I love that program but seriosly need to remember to use it more often. I really like how you can size and color the images to whatever your little heart desires. Can't wait to see more MDS projects from you! :)

You always do the neatest cards, LeAnne! This one has just the right touch of shimmer and pop of red. And Cassidy looks so cute, as always. What a pretty little girl!
